These systems are cost-effective but require longer installation times due to the necessary wiring, which can increase labour costs and potentially disrupt daily business activities. However, for smaller properties, a conventional system can offer a practical solution.

In larger properties, such as blocks of flats, hotels, or commercial spaces, the building can be divided into separate zones. If a fire is detected in a zone, the alarm will activate across the whole area. However, the system will only indicate the zone where the fire is located, not the exact detector’s position, which may cause delays in locating the fire and taking swift action—a critical factor in fire safety.

Wireless Fire Alarm Systems

Are very quick and easy to install because, as the name implies, there is no need for any wiring. However, these are more expensive than other systems and there are also ongoing costs involved as batteries needing to be regularly checked and replaced as required. Wireless systems are great for businesses such as high-class restaurants or historic buildings where the aesthetics of the building are important. 

Conventional Fire Alarm Systems
